Milliways Dossier: Jane Austen
Threads: (x)
History
- Met her pre-writing Pride and Prejudice
- Working on a novel titled First Impressions - wonderful!
- Read Ann Radcliffe
- Year 1797 for her
Impressions
- Threat Level: LOW - Frau Austen has no super powers except those given to her by her pen
- Hard truths - "That such marriages are rare in the world and the combination of affection and money is not easy to find"
- Milliways has possibly influenced her writing
- Believes it has possibly been at least two years here and less than a year in her world
- On Milliways: "I enjoy learning of what is possible for women in the future and I find ideas of how to improve my own life" and "I know that while Milliways presents possible futures, the restrictions upon my life remain the same"
- Her intelligence is seen as a fault in her own era
- Spends a great deal of time in the library
- "Every book provides new lessons from beyond my experience. To name just one or two is difficult"
- Asked me where I was from, haha
- Once encountered a vampire in the library
- "I have to write when I have the time though I would prefer to write in long sessions"
- Advice given to a writer: "Start and don't stop. Put all the words down and then consider them"
Weaknesses
- Standard human not immune to diseases, with the standard squishiness
Scabs
- Does she write with an outline or from the seat of her... dress?
Opportunities
- Oh, so many! She could tell me more about the roles of women in her time, or other societal structures, not to mention about writing
