The word implies a set plan already being in place, something she doesn't really believe in. She doesn't believe in fate, just... what had Yolande said? Loopholes, and taking advantage of them or not. She doesn't ask, 'If Spinning is what you were meant to do, who is Spinning the Spinners?'

"We rarely end up what we think we'll be, Autor. And yes, it hurts," her voice cracks a little. It has been years, and she still often wishes she were just a baker.
