Because She Would Ask Me Why I Love Her, part IV
[ Part I | Part II | Part III | Part IV | Part V ]
I kissed her! Well, sort of. I brushed my lips against her knuckles because we were both caught under magical mistletoe. Apparently someone else has kissed her on her hand, so I was her second kiss.
And I was such an imbecile, too--I hit her with an unrelated pun right before kissing her, so she whipped her hand away and called me impossible. She got me with yogurt shortly after we were freed.
She seems to be feeling a little better than the last time I saw her. She thanked me for helping her and for telling her that she wasn't unpleasant, which was unexpected but nice. Apparently Tahno-san told her that she should keep me, because I feed her. Pfft! How silly!
So I fed her. I made croissants and she watched. She affectionately called me ridiculous after I beat the butter. We talked about opera and movies and I said I'd get a television just for us to watch Mystery Science Theater 3000, and she laughed. She mentioned pumpkin soup, and I plan to make it for her.
---
Miss Kuriyama picked up a T-Minus. Her username is laconicKilljoy--what? I cooked her latkes and we discussed the internet and time differences. It's fascinating.
---
Miss Kuriyama left today. She's very brave to face a world in which she's homeless, and unsure of what to do--not to mention the Nase clan. I hope she comes back all right. She told me thank you for being her friend.
---
Miss Kuriyama texted me today. The head of the Nase clan wants to see her--to offer her a job. What? And the Nase woman is also the head of the Society of Spirit Warriors, too. They say they'll provide for her. This smells fishy.
After that, she talked about riding in the demon child's car, and about my being trapped in the story. I tell her so much! Then we spoke about how Dr. Lecter bothered her, the bastard. Apparently he tried to tell her that I was calculating and devious, but she brushed him off. Good for her!
Then she used this face in her text: >_> Twice. I laughed for a good two minutes.
---
Apparently the job is hunting in the Nase clan's territory? But why would they provide for her? Anyway, she picked up my arm warmers from Solstice, and seems to like them. I also gave her the congratulation flowers, as she got her license, but then she passed out due to anemia! She roused quickly and ate. I was so worried.
I told her about the bull stampede we had at school, and then quite a bit about the Story. It's way too easy to tell her things! We even talked about Fakir and she mentioned that he might be a threat, and to be careful. Good point.
---
She wrote me a thank you note for the arm warmers, and I learned her given name! Her name is Mirai. It means future and it's absolutely beautiful. I can't believe she finally thinks I'm worthy of it. Granted, I think she sent the same note to Rae, but I still get to know her given name. It's prettier than I thought it would be, and suits her perfectly. I like that it has two syllables. It just rolls off the tongue, too--provided I'm pronouncing it right.

We ate pizza together and flew a carpet into the snowy mountains, where we saw a doe and her fawn. It was gorgeous. After that, we had hot cocoa. It was all so pleasant, I almost forgot about the CDs Dr. Lecter gave me for Christmas, which Miss Kuriyama encouraged me to smash with a hammer.
---
Miss Kuriyama caught me messing around with the netbook Jay gave me today, and showed me all sorts of new things, like changing the color of fonts! It was very exciting. We had eggplant parmesan, and she told me it was okay to text her when I have food for her. She mentioned putting garlic in my croissants, which is brilliant. I plan to make her a scarf.
Then we went sledding, and had to hoof it because the Fool took over my carpet. And she got injured! She managed to hurt her foot, and I applied healing herbs over her navy blue tights. She seemed to be okay by the end of the night.
